About Me
Hello, I’m Reshon
Artist & Creative

Although I am originally from Arizona, I grew up and currently reside in the greater Oklahoma City area. Since I could hold a crayon in my hand, I’ve had a creative spirit. Always with a coloring book or doodling on a scrap piece of paper. In school, art class was always a priority, and I was usually the only one who took it seriously. While I took art classes in school, that is the extent of my formal art training. Everything from that point on, I have taught myself.
Sketching, blending and color theory have mostly been trial and error, and I am still learning every day. For a long time, I only painted for the fun of it and used it as an outlet. During the pandemic, I found myself with a lot of downtime (as we all did) and used watercolors as a way to lower my anxiety. I kept practicing my technique, I kept creating, and I realized I wanted to share it with as many people as I could.
For me, inspiration comes from nature: plants, flowers, landscapes and skyscapes. God is a true master of His creations; I simply try to capture a glimpse of it. Loose watercolor florals are a comfort to me, but I love adding the rigidity of ink sketching and shading to create a sense of balance in the overall piece. Additionally, I also enjoy expressing myself by means of abstract works. I enjoy playing with various textures and mediums within the same piece. I find it freeing not to be constrained by any type of medium or style. As Pablo Picasso said, “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”
My particular style has evolved over time, and I hope that it will continue to evolve into something that anyone of any budget can enjoy.
Behind the Scenes
My Process
Creating is a way for me to curb anxiety and share my passion. My process is simply to pick up my brush and experiment with mediums to paint what inspires me.
